School Production -July 2019
Our triennial school production, "Back to Your Roots" came together superbly well. I am hugely proud of all the children who, across the term, put so much in to our show to make it an outstanding performance of drama, song and dance.
The children wrote the scripts for each scene, having researched the different historic events in New Zealand's history. As they researched, they worked out the appropriate costumes and props for the time period and found a song from the year in which the event took place.
Krystal as Grandma, and Luca as Isabella, did fantastically well to learn all their lines. Maia used her voice really well, and should be really proud of having the maturity to take on male parts. A number of children (especially our younger ones) persevered to learn 'the windmill' with poi and were led ably by Kyle. The girls sounded beautiful when they sang Keep the Home Fires Burning, and huge credit goes to the boys for their song All Star, as Bryce, Blake and Blue, were way outside of their comfort zone, and yet they gave it their all.
Well done to everyone of you.
